I swear I’m such a cheerful person in real life - despite what my iconography may often portray!

If anything, the skulls I paint are perhaps inanimate themselves, but are certainly teeming with life environmentally. Which I suppose is pretty close to what happens outdoors in nature too. Huh.. whadya know.. ;)

This latest Human Skull Reliquary features a huuuge moth in near perfect condition. Sending thanks to my parents in Florida once again for saving so much exotic wildlife specimens for my pieces (notice the beetle and lizards too!)

I’m also quite pleased with all the colors I was able to pull into this piece too, like the yellow ginkgo leaves and the fuscia maple seeds.

That skull has already found a home, and so has this bobcat skull below. This bobcat was extra special because it was a commission from a longtime friend who has graced me with her awesome handmade jewelry for years.

This last bobcat reliquary has both a real large exoskeleton (I have no idea what kind tho) and three bright replica butterflies. She definitely brings that ‘life after death’ vibe!
